- No and you don't need 600k of space either. Most 256 color GIFS are more
- like half to a third that size. Yeah, that's still a little big but
- consider that most are also 1024 x 768 x 256... and that adds up to quite a
- bit of space required. Now if you really wanna snivel about space,
- consider a few Targa images... they really are 600k each. How about some
- nice 24-bit IFFs? Some of them are more than a meg in size. JPEG helps
- cut them down to size though and the display quality is very good if you
- don't get carried away with the compression ratio.
