  19. I saw it at the Pasadena WOC.  It's fast, powerful, easy to use,
  20. system-friendly, does everything DPaint IV does, and much, much more, and
  21. then some too.

  25. I didn't actually spend much time there; for me, the Amiga 4000 and the DMI
  26. booth kinda dominated the show.  Apparently Brilliance is _not_ the long-
  27. awaited DCTV animation software - it does not directly support DCTV any more
  28. than DPaint does, which seems very strange.  (the DCTV software is still "in
  29. the works")  But from what I saw, it seemed reasonably fast, and had an
  30. awful lot of stuff in the tool boxes... so one can infer a certain amount of
  31. power, if not ease of use.  Full AGA support which I hope means aligned
  32. reads during anim playback...

  34. In the flyer, it shows some of the same demo pictures shipped with DCTV,
  35. such as the Froggie.  It has the DCTV look'n'feel in its interface.
  36. Supports multiple levels of undo/redo, "real world" airbrush modes, multiple
  37. brushes and animbrushes, multiple picture and anim buffers, tweening and
  38. morphing, enhanced magnify mode, and so on (lots of sentences beginning with
  39. "powerful" or "more" in the flyer...).  They also state "By the same people
  40. that created Deluxe Paint" which could mean a lot of different things.

  42. They claim that some Brilliance operations on a 68000 are faster than the
  43. equivalent DP IV operation on an '030.  They also claim an expected ship
  44. date of a week ago.  (MSRP $249)

  46. I believe it has potential, but before I throw out my trusty DPaint IV I'll
  47. have to see it.
