- Not true. Backdrops are not limited to the same pens used by the
- workbench. A backdrop can allocate any shared pens that it feels it
- needs. The color mapping used by backdrops uses the same code used
- by multiview. What confuses many people about this pen allocation scheme
- is that the fact that there are 16 free colors does not guarantee
- that a 16 color picture will be displayed unmodified, as the pen
- allocation system tries to be fair to future palette requests when
- granting colors.
