- In the last little while I have gotten a lot of people mentioning about
- a welmat archive available on wuarchive called 'WLMT4714.LHA'. I have
- sent up a correction to this file that was sent out by someone else with
- the original filename of 'WLMT4714.LZH'. This file was sent to amiga.physik
- and should be available on the mirrors at this point.
-
- I also sent up a file called welmattools47.lzh which is an update to the
- WNotify, Login, and other tools for use with Welmat 0.47.
-
- While the above files are fairly old, these are unfortunately the latest
- public versions of Welmat. Quite a bit of work is being done on the next
- version of Welmat, but since it is VERY different in how it works than the
- old version, a completely new manual needs to be written. As I have not
- had time to even begin to write the new manual, I have not made any beta's
- available to those not regularly participating in the 'Fidonet'
- backbone conference WELMAT.
-
- With the number of inquiries about various tools from people not connected
- to the WELMAT conference, I have started to look into setting up an
- internet mailing list, and if it builds possibly creating an
- 'alt.sys.amiga.welmat' newsgroup. If you are interested in information
- about Welmat or WelmatTS, please send me a note. Please also give me a
- bit of information about yourself so that I will know which phase of
- development that you would like to get involved in. Current beta's of Welmat
- require a bit of programming knowledge in order to write a configuration
- script in a language called WPL (Welmat Programming Language). Those
- with AREXX programming experience are probably going to have no problem
- with this language. There will also be 'GUI' based configuration editors
- that will generate these 'WPL' scripts automatically for those users
- (An estimated 90% I would think) not interested in programming in WPL
- will be able to use this very configurable mailer.
-
- If you are a developer and would like to get down into the 'nitty gritty',
- please get ahold of me at this point. I am in the design stages of
- the WPI (Welmat Programming Interface) system that will be a combination
- of the facilities available to 'XPR' developers, the RVI interface for
- REXX as well as interfacing to allow one to add commands to the WPL
- language in a much more robust manner than the library interface used
- by languages like AREXX.

-
- I have been attempting to get together a group of people to discuss
- future enhancements to the XPR protocol interface. I have gotten quite
- a few people interested, but I have so far been un-able to set up a
- mailing list. I cannot afford to run the list off of my home machine
- (Email costs), and I do not administer the site that I am sending this
- message from at the moment. If there is someone interested in future
- enhancements to the XPR protocol and is also capable of hosting the
- mailing list, please let me know. If you are interested in being added
- to any mailing list, please let me know as well so that I can contact
- you once such a list is set up.
-
-
- Thanks for your interest.
