- The simple reason is that there is *NO* charset in the world with that
- configuration.
- A lot of terminal emulators can do the 7-bit national tricks and a
- great many can do true IBM charset emulation, and that's all there is!
-
- Why do you want to use some semi-special hack IBM charset where you
- move out the IBM national characters and put them below 0x80 ?
-
- I know some BBSes insist on trying to use such a charset but beleive me
- things only get messy in the end.
- Stick to the existing charsets instead. IBM contains all finnish chars,
- doesn't it?

- If you use hacked fonts, yes... Still not a very good solution IHMO.

-
- Me too. But I *DON'T* need 7-bit national characters with 8-bit IBM
- characters, since the IBM charset contains local characters anyway!
-
- Why mix two perfectly good charsets?
