- The 4:1 compression ratio is *not* the max compression rate of V.42bis. Rather,
- it's based on some standard data file (does anyone know for sure what?).
- Anyways, V.42bis can compress a lot further than just 4:1. Try to transfer a
- file consisting of a repeated single character, and you'll see what I mean.
