  21. IF that is what the manuals meant.  However, that is not what they are
  22. refering to.

  24. Speed measurement is number of bits per second, regardless of how many
  25. phases, channels, etc.  Baud cannot descibe this measurement on a "format
  26. free" basis.  That is, no matter what form of transmission, BPS is always a
  27. perfectly accurate and concise means of descibing speed.  Baud is only
  28. accurate in a few instances.  It's like using the term SPEED instead of MPH.
  29. MPH is only one description using one set of measurements.  SPEED translates
  30. to any measurement or method - it is always "distance per time." (Actually,
  31. baud would be more like "wheel revs" vs.  speed :-)
