  12. As the subject states I'm looking for some feedback on realtime OSes.

  14. I've been looking around on the market and found quite a bit of
  15. realtime OS; as usual all the literature is biased and the main
  16. difference between the objects is price. As you can imagine I cannot
  17. afford to try them out all due to time and monetary constraints.

  19. I have focused on the following OS:
  20.  
  21.     OS/9, LynxOS, pSOS, VxWorks
  22.  
  23. and a bit less on VRTX. My preference will go to all those OSes
  24. that have a Un*x like programming interface so that applications
  25. can be developed on our Suns without having to learn a new API.
  26.  
  27. The hardware platform is unknown and can be a 486 PC using LynxOS
  28. or a 68xxx VME; I personally prefer this last choice for reliability
  29. and expandibility but it could be overridden by it's cost.
  30.  
  31. The whole `thing' will be used to process around 20 analog channels
  32. that carry info from pressure sensor and thermocouples; the maximum
  33. sample rate should be less than 10KHz.
  34.  
  35. If you have used any of the mentioned Oses or know of others I missed
  36. and are willing to share your knowledge please do.
