  12. I am working on a project using a FTP server in a VME crate and
  13. two kindsa of clients: X-Window or Windows. Therefore, I am waiting
  14. for the realease of a WinSock compliant product: WinSock specification
  15. is a library for Windows providing Berkeley compatible sockets. I should
  16. be able to compile the Sun's RPC using this library beacause Sun RPC is
  17. a public domain package using Berkeley sockets.
  18.  
  19. My problems:
  20.     - There is still no version of WinSock compliant products.
  21.     - I cannot figure out how to configure the winsock.dll beta-release
  22.       of NetManage with my 3com-501 / PC-NFS configuration.
  23.     - I am afraid that the adaptation of Sun RPC to WinSock will
  24.       not not be so easy as it sould be.
  25.  
  26. What would help me?
  27.     - a "ready to use" version of Sun RPC for Windows
  28.     - a WinSock compliant library
  29.     - a working beta-release of a WinSock compliant library
  30.

  39. P.S.  It's really a pitty that the RPC released with WIndows-NT are
  40.       a new Microsoft proprietary spec.! Sun's RPC is the "de facto"
  41.       standard!!!
  42.
