  17. SLIP is the term for a byte-stuffed transport of IP packets over a
  18. serial line.  A packet driver is a bit of PC software that implements
  19. the FTP Software packet driver specification.  Such a packet driver
  20. can accept IP packets and transport them to the other end of a serial
  21. link (possibly over a modem).
