- I've tried about all I know how to do on this as well. I've tried
- various combinations of NCSA telnet 2.3.03, 2.3.05, 3Com 3C501 and
- 3C503 boards, disabling or enabling "shared" adapter memory, disabling
- or enabling high memory drivers, forcing VGA's to 8-bit mode, changing
- interrupts and memory locations, BREAK=ON vs. BREAK=OFF, different DOS
- versions...
-
- ...and I still get hangups. Another data point: a Compaq with an
- NE2000 board, NCSA telnet 2.3.05, and no high memory driver also hangs
- just like the others. It's using a packet driver.
-
- Typically these hangs are caused by a fast machine sending gobs of data
- to the screen. Not necessary big gobs, either. About half the time,
- just doing "ls" in a directory with about 100 entries will do it.
-
- I hate to post a "me too" message, but I wish someone would send me a
- nice e-mail message saying how I can fix all of this. I thought the
- general feeling among folks in this newsgroup was that this software
- was good quality. If so, what am I doing wrong?
