  17. We have several SunOS systems, a few Macs and an Apple Laserwriter printer. We
  18. used to have a FastPath box but it was fried (literally, by the sun shining
  19. through a window). Now we would like to print on the ALW without the FastPath
  20. box. The new one is already ordered but slow in coming.

  22. What would happen if we purchased an Ethernet card for the ALW? People tell me
  23. that the ALW then understands "Ethertalk" only but the SunOS machines generate
  24. TCP/IP, I think.

  26. Is there any PD software that would enable us to let the SunOS machines
  27. generate Ethertalk? How about CAP? Does that help us with that at all?

  31. Hmpf... I think I was much too specific. More generally, our problem is that
  32. we used to have this setup with the FastPath box connecting the TCP/IP and
  33. AppleTalk and it worked all right.

  35. What (cheap) solutions do you suggest for letting the SunOS machines print to
  36. the ALW?
