  12. At this facility our current configuration is:
  13. VAX 6430
  14. 64 mb memory
  15. VMS v. 5.5-1
  16. WIN TCP 5.2
  17.  
  18. I have a need to run a tape drive (9 track type or something similar) that is
  19. located in a remote facility. We are connected to that facility through DECNET.
  20. We can also connect to them through Internet.
  21.  
  22. We have Imprint running here, and that makes a couple of the laser printers
  23. look like nodes on the cluster, question: Do you need special software to run
  24. a Tape drive remotely? I need to do everything from here, except hang and 
  25. take-off the tape. With the network, we have capability to print
  26. to printers remotely. We can also talk to all the Pc's and Mac's on the 
  27. network.

  29. I know about Remote Tape Facility from System Management Software, but before
  30. I send for a demo copy I was wondering if there was an alternative solution.
