- In the past two nights, we have gotten the message
-
- Panic : memory corrupted in process ...
-
- or something very close to that. It would occur when the observing program
- would hang in a repetitive background process (controlled by a phase table
- driven routine called by a sys$setimr at semiregular intervals). If the
- observer attempted to gracefully exit the program (to save data, etc) with
- the usual EXIT command, the program would immediately crash, remove all
- workstation windows, expand the startup window from its iconned state
- and print the panic message. I also remember seeing this (context unremembered)
- from about a year and a half ago but it only happened once, then.
-
- Our configuration is:
- Vaxstation 3100, 16MB memory.
- VMS 5.2
- VWS 4.0 (I think)
-
- This program as it now stands was originally developed and linked on a
- Vaxstation 2000 running VMS 5.5 but the software was ported to a Vaxstation II
- running VMS 5.2 and recompiled/relinked.
-
- Thanks for any and every reply,
