  19. First of all, there *IS* no "Kermit transfer program that comes with VMS."  If
  20. the version of Kermit you're using has been on your system long enough that you
  21. think it's part of VMS, then you've probably got an OLD version of Kermit.  The
  22. version currently available from KERMIT.COLUMBIA.EDU allows 1000-character
  23. windows, whereas your version probably allows 80-character windows.  If you
  24. don't have FTP, I can write and mail to you a DCL procedure that will create
  25. the executable and the help file.  Of course, you'd have to trust me to not be
  26. sending you a trojan horse of some kind. :-(

  35. understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below).  So
  36. unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
