- First of all, there *IS* no "Kermit transfer program that comes with VMS." If
- the version of Kermit you're using has been on your system long enough that you
- think it's part of VMS, then you've probably got an OLD version of Kermit. The
- version currently available from KERMIT.COLUMBIA.EDU allows 1000-character
- windows, whereas your version probably allows 80-character windows. If you
- don't have FTP, I can write and mail to you a DCL procedure that will create
- the executable and the help file. Of course, you'd have to trust me to not be
- sending you a trojan horse of some kind. :-(

- Most likely, you're simple running an incredibly old version of kermit.

- Disclaimer: Hey, I understand VAXen and VMS. That's what I get paid for. My
- understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below). So
- unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
- organization responsible for it. If it IS related to VAX/VMS, you can try to
- hold me responsible for it, but my organization had nothing to do with it.
