  20. Good question.  Perhaps the hard drive needs to be defragmented.  This
  21. pause would perhaps indicate some delay in finding the initial system
  22. files (kernel, etc).  Have you replaced the kernel recently, or
  23. otherwise manipulated the files in your root directory?
