  14. Based on the assertion by a Corel Pre-Sale representative that COREL SCSI
  15. software supports the Allways IN/2000 SCSI host adapter under OS/2, I ordered
  16. a copy.  NOT!!!

  18. 1. You need an adapter-specific ASPI driver from Allways, that they've
  19. not bothered to write yet.
  20.  
  21. 2. Corel SCSI software will NOT work with HPFS!  I don't know if that means
  22. that you can't use their driver to boot from a HPFS partition, or that the
  23. backup software doesn't work or what, but they state on their Help line that
  24. you can NOT use HPFS on SCSI disks.

  26. I suppose it's old news that the IN2000 card is slow using the generic
  27. driver, and that they've been promising (and not delivering) OS/2 support
  28. for years.  Their Tech Support bulletin board is full of the most amazing
  29. flaming about OS/2.

  31. SUMMARY: DON'T buy Corel SCSI software for OS/2, if you expect to use
  32.          either the IN2000 or HPFS, or both.  Don't buy the IN2000 card for
  33.          OS/2, spring the extra hundred bucks for the Adaptec controller.
