- Well, I went home, fiddled some more, & solved my problem.
-
- To install the cd-rom, one must not only choose cd-rom support from the
- selective install panel, but must also go in and choose IBM cd-rom
- drivers WITHIN the cd-rom support item. Then reboot & it all sorts
- out.
-
- The results of the above procedure was an additional "IFS" statement in
- my config.sys that gave me access to the drive.
-
- It IS NOT necessary to do a full reinstall of the OS as CD Technology
- tech. support claimed. It MAY be necessary to have the drive
- physically installed and powered on before this works. I haven't gone
- back & tried again without it.
-
- Thanks to all who offered help.
