- Hi folks,
-
- I saw a new document on the OS2BBS "News and Announcements" of IBMLink
- today which documents known problems with the service pack and solutions
- or workarounds where they have them. I have posted a message requesting
- permission to forward this document in its entirety to this group and
- OS2-L. I haven't heard back, so I thought I'd take the liberty to
- "paraphrase" some of it...
- 1. Out-of-sync with Diamond Speedstar.
- They have a solution, but its fairly long. I hope I can post the
- entire file...
- 2. List of supported SVGA adapters.
- Western Digital Paradise Professional
- SVGA with Tseng ET4000 or ET3000
- Video 7 VRAM II
- ATI VGAWonder XL (chip #18800 or #28800)
- Trident 8900c
- 3. Problem with XGA and OEM monitor with workaround
- 4. Problem with non-IBM XGA-NI can't use XGA mode in VDM.
- 5. New Tseng SVGA - system won't boot - make sure you have SVGADATA.PMI.
- 6. SVGA mode not supported in DOS box or WinOS2 for ATI 8514-Ultra.
- 7. EVEREX Viewpoint out-of-sync problem.
- 8. Internal Processing Error when deleting file on FAT in a VDM DOS box.
- This sounds bad (don't delete from FAT in VDM DOS box). Fix will
- be produced.
- 9. Alt-Home fails after session loses focus. Workaround is: switch
- to desktop and select "Windowed" from the pop-up menu for the
- program object (not the task list).
- 10. Once #9 happens, *RIGHT* Alt key plus any extended key kills the
- keyboard for that session. Workaround is: quickly press and
- release *LEFT* Alt key.
- 11. When a Windowed DOS program uses hi-res graphics, the box loses
- focus and keyboard appears dead. Workaround is: same as #10.
- I hope I don't get in trouble posting this info. I can't imagine
- IBM would care, but they *do* have lawyers :-)
- Anyway, hope this helps. Assuming I get permission, I'll post the
- exact file...
