- It took a long time, reading many, many messages before I understood
- what was being discussed in this thread. When it finally dawned on
- me that the discussion was about copying icons (program objects) from
- the Drives folder to the Desktop, everything fell into place. I never
- use this method, so I have never had a problem unintentionally deleting
- the file. I have always used Create Another, or the Program template
- from the Templates folder to add a new object to the Desktop. I am too
- much in love with my DOS file manager to use Drives (although Drives is
- better when I need to prune my directory tree). I have noticed that the
- WinOS231 file manager is very fast, perhaps the first GUI based file
- manager that could tempt me to actually use it. My DOS file manager is
- PFM from Paul Culley (rev 3.14).
