- I started noticing that my os2sys.ini file started growing, and went up
- to 4.5 megs, before I killed it (I went back to a backup that was 1.5 megs,
- which is still big).
-
- It all seems to have started when I started tagging floppy disk files
- with Comments, using the WorkPlace Shell. Every time I commented a file,
- os2sys.ini grew by 40Kb.
-
- What I did was open up a drives folder, then selected the file, opened
- the Setting menu (by clicking the right MB), selecting the File tab, and
- entering stuff in either the Subject (page 1) or Comments (page 3) sections.
- After doing this, os2sys.ini grew by 30 to 40 kb.
-
- THis shouldn't be happening, since comments are stored in Extended Attributes on
- the drive (so they would be on the floppy, not in os2sys.ini). And even if
- they DID go in os2sys.ini, the comments were only a hundred bytes or so, not
- 40 kb.
-
- Can anybody try this (not many times, or you may have a 4 meg os2sys.ini file!)
- and verify if this is happenning on your machine?
-
-
- thanks
