  11. Don't try to install the service pack with a monochrome card installed
  12. as second video adapter. I did this. The service installed all 12 base
  13. update disks and when it came to the video driver update, it noticed
  14. there is no update for monochrome in the pack. Well, it could have
  15. removed the monochrome, but no, it didn't even install the primary
  16. driver (8514) - it did no longer install anything but terminated.
  17. Leaving me alone with an unbootable system (new GRE, old drivers).

  19. I had to restore the backup, remove the 2nd video setup (hrmmpf - why
  20. does the selective install require a dozen disks just to remove a
  21. driver from CONFIG.SYS?) and rerun the service pack update.
