- I want to buy a 486 clone in the next time but at the moment I'm not
- quite sure which graphic card I should take. As I want to use OS/2
- with a better resolution than the standard VGA I was wondering if anybody
- could tell me what SVGA cards/chipsets and resolutions are supported by OS/2,
- especially with the SP or by the manufacturers and what will be supported in the
- near future (Is there a list with drivers/resolutions?). What about any of
- the accelerated chip sets (S3 ... or even the new mach32 from ATI)?
- I was thinking about a card based on the et4000 (1024x768x16?), a card with a S3
- chip or even the new ATI Graphics Ultra Pro (with the mach32 chip).
- Something else: I thought that I've read something about a standard for SVGA
- modes (VESA ?) so you don't need a driver for every different
- card. Is this true or did I get something wrong?
-
- Any information will be appreciated ;-)
