- Hey all. I just installed the service pack on my IBM PS/2 model 90 at work
- and have noticed something interesting. On my 486/50 clone at home, my swapper
- file grows like crazy and rarely ever shrinks. On the PS/2 at work, however,
- the swapper tends to stay way down around 4096k. If it grows, it'll shrink
- right back as soon as I quite a few apps.
-
- The only difference between the work machine and my home machine is that at
- work I have an IBM SCSI drive, and at home I have both an IDE and a SCSI.
- I have both IBM1S506.ADD and IBMINT.I13 (or whatever) installed for my
- two drives and they have always worked fine.
-
- Could this have anything to do with it? Is my machine at home keeping TWO
- seperate HD caches...one for each HD?
-
- Also, the IBM1S506.ADD file I am using is the one from GA since the one in
- the SP fails to see my IDE drive. Could this have anything to do with it?
-
- I read somewhere that there is a fixed IBM1S506.ADD file floating around
- somewhere which should be able to see my IDE drive. Could someone point
- me in it's direction?
-
- Any help is appreciated.
