- I have some spare cash at the moment (lucky me!) and I'm thinking of
- upgrading my system to spped up windows a bit. My current setup is as
- follows:- 386 DX-20, 4Mb RAM,105 MB Hard disk, crap VGA card.
- The options I am considering are as follows (only one of them though!):
- 1) Upgrade my motherboard (to 386-40 or 486SX-20)
- 2) Add an extra 4MB of memory to my system
- 3) Buy a Hard Disk cache controller with 2.5 MB on board
- 4) Get a decent graphics board - my current one is a 1989 model, so
- *anything* should be better than that, but what would I go for???
-
- I run Excel, Word, and a few dos boxes - BC++ / Comms software etc.
-
- So guys & gals - what is the best way to improve my system
- performance???????
