- I have a DeskJet 500C, and I'm very satisfied with it. I've used it
- for printing letters, spreadsheets, charts, and graphics, all from
- Windows applications. It works just fine; the driver that comes with
- the printer is easy to install, and delivers satisfactory performance.
- The printer also comes with drivers for a number of DOS programs and a
- set of scalable soft-fonts (I'm not sure if these are for Windows
- only).
-
- Output quality is highly dependent the paper quality. HP's special
- DeskJet paper is best, it provides excellent print quality; plain
- paper provides good, but slightly jagged, quality. Note that not all
- types of plain paper are equally well suited for the DeskJet, you
- should experiment with different types of paper to arrive at the best
- result (or ask someone who has already done this).
