- The Win32 SDK for Windows NT is 100% publicly available to anyone
-

- >supported public distribution be made available for general release?
-
- Spring of next year, '93.
-
- >Does anyone know the planned contents of the final public general release?
-
- The product will contain the operating system, networking, the ability to run
- Win16, MS-Dos, POSIX.1 & OS/2 16-bit char-based apps - and most importantly new
- "Win32" 32-bit Windows apps
-
- >What is the mechanism for protection against piracy of the operating system?
-
- There is no copy-protection
-
- >What is the viability of the NT system for support real time high bandwidth
- >(several audio channel) laboratory data collection/process control systems?
-
- It is viable, and has several "real-time" priority levels documented
- in the October "beta" release which will be suitable for instrument
- control
-
- >I understand the application developer's kit is available via 800 telephone.

-
- Yes - the ph# is 800-227-4679 for both

- There is a large list of hardware - too large to quote. A quality PC-Clone
- with SCSI connected CD-ROM is a safe bet. The tested hardware list is
- included in the SDK. This hardware list was posted to this group a couple
- of weeks ago
