  11. On a number of occasions I've returned to my computer to find the
  12. screen blank except for the "Cannot read from drive B:" dialog.  There
  13. is no disk in the drive, so I hit cancel, the dialog goes away and and
  14. the screen saver kicks in (I have it set to Blank Screen).  I think
  15. this happens after I have accessed the floppy drive from within a
  16. program, and then taken the floppy out. For instance, I do this when
  17. uploading a file from the floppy in a comm program; when the upload is
  18. finished the program *should* no longer need to access the drive.
  19. What I don't understand is why the screen saver checks the drives
  20. before kicking in.

  22. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon, and can anyone explain it to
  23. me?  Should I worry that it's possibly something more sinister (a
  24. virus randomly accessing drives?)?
