  23. The problem is with the POP3 server on your mail host.  The original
  24. POP3 (Post Office Protocol, version 3) definition (RFC 1081) described a
  25. protocol for reading messages from a maildrop.  The only thing it said
  26. about sending mail is that the client could use SMTP (Simple Mail
  27. Transfer Protocol) if it wanted to!  Later POP3 definitions added
  28. extended commands to do various clever things, including XTND XMIT which
  29. is used to send mail.

  31. You need to upgrade your POP3 server.  If your mail host is a UN*X box,
  32. get hold of "popper" from your favourite archive server.
