- The problem is with the POP3 server on your mail host. The original
- POP3 (Post Office Protocol, version 3) definition (RFC 1081) described a
- protocol for reading messages from a maildrop. The only thing it said
- about sending mail is that the client could use SMTP (Simple Mail
- Transfer Protocol) if it wanted to! Later POP3 definitions added
- extended commands to do various clever things, including XTND XMIT which
- is used to send mail.

- get hold of "popper" from your favourite archive server.
