  11. On my computer linux crashes when accessing floppy disk
  12. and hard disk (mfm, western digital controller) at the
  13. same time. It seems to happen when one of both accesses
  14. is caused by a sync. This is somewhat annoying since I
  15. had to re-install the damaged file system already three
  16. times!

  18. I used to kill the update process before accessing floppies
  19. but since I updated to pl 4, the ps program does not work
  20. any more (not even after ps -U) and I did not yet succeed
  21. in recompiling ps either. Yet the bug is still there in pl 4
  22. and now my filesystem is again gone.
  23.  
  24. Is there any known problem in the handler of mfm hard disks?
  25. Or maybe even a patch available somewhere?
