  31. That's strange.  I have a Boca 14.4K with fax and hate it.  Sometimes it
  32. hangs up -- sometimes it doesn't.  When it doesn't hang up, I have to do a
  33. hard reboot to reset the modem.  And sometimes even that doesn't work -- it
  34. takes two hard reboots and a complete power down.

  36. I called Boca about this and their respose essentially boiled down to -- "If
  37. you aren't using the software we shipped with the modem under DOS it isn;t
  38. our fault the modem doesn;t work properly."  My advice is to avoid Bocas
  39. like the plague.

  41. On the other hand, I have a Cardinal 9600bps modem (no fax) which works like
  42. a charm.  Absolutely no problems under any software (minicom, kermit, UUCP,
  43. etc.)
