  11. As always, I have to apologise in advance if this is yet another in a
  12. long line of questions asked by dorks. Question: Why can't non-root users
  13. use the system after they log in.

  15. I am running SLS 0.97 (pl1, I think)

  17. When I create a new user, and then try and log in as that user I get
  18.  
  19.     shell-init: Permission denied
  20.     : Permission denied
  21.  
  22. the startup shell for this user is /bin/bash, and /bin/bash has world
  23. read and execute permissions. /bin has world execute and read access.

  25. This problem has only just arisen after reinstalling some of the SLS
  26. disks fixed by Peter Macdonald. I know I'm missing something blindingly
  27. obvious, but what is it?
