  11. I have been running FWEB versions 1.22 and 1.23a (compiled with GCC versions
  12. 2.2.2d and ss-921016 respectively) under kernel version 0.98.1.  When I run
  13. fweave on a web file, I get the error
  14.  
  15.     Writing INDEX.tex...IOT trap/Abort (core dumped)
  16.  
  17. Since I have been unable to find code within FWEB for this, I am assuming
  18. that this is a GCC or kernel error.  Would someone please enlighten me as to
  19. what it means.

  21. Now, for the $64 question.  Why is it that I don't get this error all of the
  22. time.  Sometimes, everything will work fine and the index will be produced. 
  23. Then, either on the very same file -- slightly modified in a trivial way --
  24. the error will return.  Any suggestions are welcome.
