- Several people have complained that it is hard to upgrade from
- SLS .96 to .98. I suppose that the real solution requires an
- addition of an upgrade option to the install program that
- can delete all of the previous installation. I will look at it,
- while I am looking at the mounting /usr to a different partition.
- It may take a while (priorities you know).
-
- Also, I think I will add to all the z?fix.taz files, the script
- to make sure the major directories have the correct permissions.
-
- Finally, packages like SLS do not eliminate all newbie questions
- /postings. Newbies will always ask a certain number of questions
- before running out of gas. The functions of these packages is to
- let them get a lot further into the system before the fuel expires.
- So instead of questions like "where do I get ps", we get questions
- that help debug a system for general use.
