  20. Technical contributions are hereby solicited for the 7th CSEE, the only
  21. conference that emphasizes software engineering education. The CSEE series
  22. has been continuously growing and maturing, gaining international interest
  23. and participation, bringing together educators from universities, industry,
  24. and government.  The conference provides a unique forum promoting interactions
  25. among these communities for discussing mutual problems and issues related
  26. to the content, structure, and delivery of software engineering education.
  27. The conference format includes refereed papers, panel discussions, reports,
  28. tutorials, and workshop sessions.

  31. CONFERENCE THEME
  32. The technical motivation behind the CSEE series has been putting the 
  33. "engineering" into software engineering--applying the principles and methods
  34. of traditional engineering disciplines to software engineering, and the
  35. 7th CSEE continues this focus.  A major abjective of the conference is to
  36. stimulate new proven "practice" and experiences.  Interested individuals
  37. in academia, government, and industry are called upon to submit contributions
  38. describing current efforts in areas such as, but not limited to, the
  39. following:
  40.  
  41. * Enhanced software engineering education: the use of analytic techniques
  42.   that allow prediction of performance, safety, and reliability of software
  43.   intensive systems.
  44.  
  45. * New educational approaches: how to obtain/disseminate practitioner's
  46.   knowledge/experiences; distance learning and other technology-assisted
  47.   mechanisms.
  48.  
  49. * Evaluation of promising new ideas: the role of laboratories and 
  50.   experimentation in engineering and engineering education, and its 
  51.   application to software engineering.
  52.  
  53. * Association with other related disciplines: academic programs (BS, MS,
  54.   MSE, and PhD) in software engineering, computer science, and software
  55.   systems engineering.  Relationships with national/international
  56.   software and computing initiatives.
  57.  
  58. * Professionalism: certification, licensing, ethics.
  59.  
  60. * Additional technical issues: incorporating software reuse and other
  61.   significant accomplishments into software engineering education.

  64. AUTHOR INFORMATION
  65. Each submitted paper will receive a thorough review by members of the
  66. program committee, and accepted papers will be published in the conference
  67. proceedings (past proceedings were published as Lecture Notes in Computer
  68. Science by Springer-Verlag).  Authors should submit five (5) copies of a
  69. complete paper (no longer than 20 double spaced pages - approximately
  70. 6000 words) or panel/tutorial/workshop proposal.  Reviews will be blind: put
  71. only the title in the submittal, and provide a separate cover page that 
  72. includes title, all authors' names, complete addresses and telephone numbers,
  73. indicating to whom all correspondence should be directed.  Papers will be
  74. accepted via e-mail in PostScript(R) format.
