  34. The conference succeeds the highly successful workshop on broadband 
  35. islands, held in Dublin in 1991. The aim of this conference is to 
  36. bring together researchers and managers involved in broadband 
  37. communications, to exchange experiences and to discuss state of the 
  38. art and future trends in this rapidly evolving field.

  40. Operational, economical and technical issues as well as management 
  41. tasks will be addressed. In bringing together networking people with 
  42. different backgrounds, responsibilities and views this conference 
  43. will contribute to a better use of broadband communication systems.
