- You're right about the two for-fee alternatives, but who is there that's
- willing to forward at no cost? All the domain parks around here want some
- money for this. I've seen exactly 1 public volunteer to be a forwarder for
- the world (Karl Kleinpaste at OSU, and he's no longer there). In general,
- free forwarders are few and far between, even in an Internet-rich area like
- eastern MA. People in Nebraska or Idaho had better have a lot of cash
- available to reach a potential forwarder.
-
- Will MSEN volunteer itself as a free forwarder?
-
- I think we're going to be stuck with bang paths and host.UUCP addresses for
- a long time to come.
-
- To add something constructive to this discussion: we're willing to be a
- forwarder and nameserver for any UUCP site in northern New England who
- wants a domain name (anyone who doesn't mind the inherent insecurity of
- connecting to a site that's still in chapter 11, anyway).
