  20. I may have just reproduced this problem.  I was reading some mail and 
  21. accidentally hit 'e' and went into edit on the incoming mail.  I did
  22. a ':q!' to get out of that and got a message about a problem resetting
  23. permissions.  When I checked the group id for my mail spool had changed to
  24. 'system'.  This breaks the mail daemon when it trys to write new mail.
