- Two questions;
-
- One; In an FDDI ring, when one device transmits an error packet,
- ie; a frame error, the downstream neighbour will count it as an
- error. As the frame is still circulating, will the next
- downstream device count the same frame as an error, or will it
- ignore it ??
-
- Two; In all Cisco statistics there is a value called "rely" which
- always displays X/255. I am told this is a reliability figure.
- What, exactly, is the meaning of the number X? My guess is that
- the reliability is X 255ths. OK, when should I start to worry if
- this number begins to decrease, and where should I look for
- problems? This is a "generic" type question, however I have a
- FDDI interface that shows 245/255 for "rely".
-
- I haven't included the configuration values or hardware as these
- questions are general in nature. Send me mail if you want them.
-
