  17. Well... the ZyXEL has, in fact, two protocols that the HST DS does _not_
  18. support:

  23. The ZyXEL 16800 mode is an extension of v32bis, it is fullduplex and thus
  24. a lot more flexible than HST 16800. (Ever tried to do a uucp-g or -i
  25. transfer over HST?).

  27. Further, the ZyXEL has pretty useful features like called id detection,
  28. distinctive ring (sp?) detection, etc.

  30. What has the USR HST DS? Nothing except a proprietary half duplex HST
  31. standard (mind: ZyXEL is _encouraging_ other vendors to implement ZyX 168),
  32. wide-spread rumours about a Fax upgrade (I did not hear about anybody that
  33. has it yet...), and a not fully implemented v32bis (remember the
  34. discussion about the DS not properly terminating a session???).

  36. Ah, yes, I forgot. The USR HST DS costs a lot more than the ZyXEL. It
  37. _has_ to be better.

  44. Well... they both have v32bis, that's right. And they both cost about the
  45. same. But what about all the other features that the ZyXEL has??? One
  46. shouldn't compare it to the Sportster - it wouldn't be fair, the USR would
  47. LOSE!
