- I'm looking into buying a 14.4K external modem, with FAX, for a
- Macintosh. I've just started reading this group (just went back and
- read the last 400 or so messages) --- it's been very informative.
- But, I didn't notice anything about the "Magic Modems" entry into the
- 14.4K/Fax field. Is it just a repackaging of some other modem? Yet
- Another Rockwell Chip Set modem? Likely to be unreliable on noisy
- lines? At the price (around $270) it seemed >very< attractive. Is
- this just false economy?
-
- It's been advertised (at least) these last three months in MacWorld.
- Does anyone have any experience with them? Any real info?
-
- Dial-out, Fax out and Fax in would be common. Dial-in very
- occasionally, but probably usually at the lower speeds anyway.
-
- Thanks for any info:
