- A problem is that you cannot draw a distinct line between 'private'
- and 'commercial' sales. I can offer a stack of science fiction books
- for sale (to take a case I am familiar with). If these are just
- books I don't want around any more, most people would call that
- a private sale. Let us say I am an avid collector, and I bought out
- someone else's collection because it had some stuff I wanted. The
- n I post for sale the duplicates I ended up with. Commercial? probably
- not. What if I do this a few times? Now it starts to get fuzzy.

- To address the problem, I suggest a 'classifieds' newsgroup, where
- the subject heading is prefixed by a number to identify the subject
- (just like the newspaper), and there is no restriction on who may
- post 'for sale' or 'wanted' items. Commerical postings can be
- redirected to this group, and those sites that want to retain a
- 'non-commercial' feed can simply not take that newsgoup.
