There are some additional differences between these two modems that some other folks have not mentioned.
The courier models have some additional features that are not found on the sportster line.
1) link diagnostics
2) HST protocol
3) Enhanced V.32 (faster retains with other USR modems, etc.)
4) Synchronous mode
5) MI/MIC modes
6) Leased line operation
7) front panel voice/data switch (programable)
The only other difference I can think of is that the new sportster line has not proven itself as a reliable product yet. The courier modems simply are a quality product, and can be relied on.
