  14. I am looking for a replacement modem for my telebit T2500 that stopped working
  15. after 1.5 years (replaced by a Worldblazer in June) in use but unfortunately 
  16. is a little over 2 years old.  I am looking for a reliable modem that I can 
  17. count on for at least 5 years.  Does anyone have any recomendations for
  18. a reliable modem that isn't a Telebit.  Please reply to me personally
  19. if you have a recommendation as I don't want this to degenerate into
  20. modem bashing.  I think Telebit makes great modems but I am exercising
  21. my option as a consumer to chose another vendor.  Ignore the soap box
  22. if you don't want to hear my complaining and whining about money and 
  23. other issues :-)

  27. My only experience with Telebit indicates to me that I may not be able
  28. to expect this level of reliability and I am therefore looking elsewhere
  29. for a new vendor to supply my modems.  I know that Telebit makes GREAT
  30. modems and I have been pleased with the ones I have owned but from a business
  31. standpoint I have to find a new vendor.   $1000 for two years service
  32. seems like a mistake to me now :-).

  34. After talking to telebit tech support about my options, I have decided 
  35. that I don't really want to send in additional money and pay to have it 
  36. fixed since this modem failed so soon (in my view ;-) and other modems 
  37. I have owned previous to my Telebit vendor change are still working
  38. after 10 years.  In other words, I am not convinced that sending in more
  39. money after bad will solve the reliablity issue.
