- Greetings,
-
- I am looking for a replacement modem for my telebit T2500 that stopped working
- after 1.5 years (replaced by a Worldblazer in June) in use but unfortunately
- is a little over 2 years old. I am looking for a reliable modem that I can
- count on for at least 5 years. Does anyone have any recomendations for
- a reliable modem that isn't a Telebit. Please reply to me personally
- if you have a recommendation as I don't want this to degenerate into
- modem bashing. I think Telebit makes great modems but I am exercising
- my option as a consumer to chose another vendor. Ignore the soap box
- if you don't want to hear my complaining and whining about money and
- other issues :-)

- My only experience with Telebit indicates to me that I may not be able
- to expect this level of reliability and I am therefore looking elsewhere
- for a new vendor to supply my modems. I know that Telebit makes GREAT
- modems and I have been pleased with the ones I have owned but from a business
- standpoint I have to find a new vendor. $1000 for two years service
- seems like a mistake to me now :-).
-
- After talking to telebit tech support about my options, I have decided
- that I don't really want to send in additional money and pay to have it
- fixed since this modem failed so soon (in my view ;-) and other modems
- I have owned previous to my Telebit vendor change are still working
- after 10 years. In other words, I am not convinced that sending in more
- money after bad will solve the reliablity issue.
