  22. I had a similar problem. Until I got the latest ROM upgrade, I worked around
  23. it by storing my configuration in the power-up nv-RAM, and setting the modem
  24. for &D3 (Reset on DTR drop). This reset the modem at the end of each caller session
  25. in the same fashion as cycling the power.  The bug seemed to be that certain
  26. connections would leave the modem in an unusual state. This was not corrected
  27. by issuing a normal string to the modem like "AT&F...etc."  Of course, to use
  28. this technique, you must be using a Hang-Up on DTR type of approach to modem
  29. control in your bbs software.  The callers that hung the modem up seemed to be
  30. 1200 baud users, I recall.
