- Dear Skeptics:
- For all of you out there you have been pondering on the idea
- of buying an infotel 14.4k modem and have yet to here a reply on them,
- here it is. I have been using their new 14.4k internal (yes internal)
- modem for two months. It seems to do everything it is suppose to do,
- even at $205. It also comes with modem/fax window/dos communication
- programs for which the fax program is the only plus there. I get an
- average ZIP file cpi of 1650 at 14.4 and 1024 at 9600. On good lines
- this will go up. Although this modem was not advertised as containing
- a UART 16550 chip, I was happily suprised that it did come with one.
- The company, unlike supra, does not deal in vapor ware. I called and
- received my modem in two weeks. For those of you only interested
- in external modems, their price is $259. I highly recommend this modem
- for those of you who, like myself, require speed and quality at half
- the price. If interested -->
