  12. I am interested in buying a 14.4k bps external modem.
  13. But I have a few requirements: 
  14. first it is preferable that the modem be price less than
  15. $400.
  16. Secondly  the modem must be able to handle bad phone lines-
  17. especially dorm phone lines, and have, of course, MNP 2-5.
  18. Third, I hope I can buy it new, or used with the 
  19. warranty card in it, or still on warranty for a long while.
  20. Last, I hope it would be upgradealble, the ROM, that is...
  21.  
  22. I have been looking in Computer Shopper and PC Mag, but the only
  23. cheap modems are the ones that are generic. :(

  25. How do the Supra, Hayes, Boca, compare?  I am willing to look
  26. into someother brands also.
