- I favor the Zoom v.32bis VFX Faxmodem (or whatever it's called...their top of
- the line fax-capable modem) over the Supra because the features they claim are
- there are there (as far as I have seen). True, they aren't promising all that
- the Supra is, but I haven't heard that the Supra is delivering on their
- promises from local people who have them.
-
- The Zoom warranty is 7 years (with free ROM upgrades within the 7 years, should
- you need them; I haven't) but if you're considering the Zoom, you should really
- consider the Infotel model. Same manual, probably the same modem innards, but
- a 10 year warranty and (at last check of the Midwest Micro Catalog) approx $25
- cheaper. I've also read on this newsgroup that the Zoom has recently gone down
- in price, so I'm not sure if the Infotel is still cheaper.
-
- Anyways, I've had nothing but good service from my Zoom v.32bis FAXmodem and I
- can't say the same for the local Supra owners (who are using their modem for
- the same purpose I am--SLIP and dialup).
