- Technology: Electric(TM) Design System, Version 5.00e
- Developed By: Sid Penstone, Queen's University
- Release Date: November 5, 1992
- ID Code: SE0157
- Status: Supported
-
- Description: This is the latest university release of the Electric(TM)
- Design System available from CMC. The following is a
- brief list of some of the changes that have occurred since
- the release of version 4.07i:
- 1) QUAIL and the external VHDL compiler have now been
- incorporated into the Electric(TM) Design System
- executable.
- 2) The Elk Lisp interpreter is now built in. You no
- longer have to search for your own language interface.
- 3) The X11 graphics driver has been improved. It now
- reads the Xdefaults file to select which fonts to use,
- backing store usage, and the initial size and
- placement of the graphics window.
- 4) The database resolution has been increased to 1/2
- millimicron linear and 1/10 degree angular.
- 5) The SPICE extractor, Verilog extractor, and PostScript
- output module have been improved.
- 6) Gennum design libraries for 2x1, 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4
- arrays have been created.
- 7) As always, a number of bugs have been fixed.
- This distribution will contain all the CMC-supported
- technologies (CMOS3DLM, CMOS4S, GaAs, and Gennum) as well
- as the Gennum design libraries and the CMC standard cell
- libraries for CMOS3DLM and CMOS4S. Supporting
- documentation for all CMC technologies as well as QUISC
- and QUAIL is also included.
-
- Keywords: Electric, CMOS3DLM, CMOS4S, Gennum, GaAs, QUISC, QUAIL,
- VHDL
- Known Problems and Limitations:
- None
- Suggested Enhancements:
- None
- Notes:
- Release Category: Will automatically be transmitted via the ftp process to
- those Canadian universities licensed by Electric Editor,
- Inc. for the use of the Electric(TM) Design System and who
- have met the distribution requirements detailed below.
- Thereafter V5.00e will be released to other Canadian
- universities on an `as requested' basis subject to the
- requester satisfying the distribution requirements
- detailed below.
- Distribution Requirements:
- A license agreement must be entered into between the
- university and Electric Editor, Inc. covering the use of
- the Electric(TM) Design System. Additionally, in order to
- receive V5.00e (incorporating CMC-supported technologies),
- the university must have executed a CMC Equipment Loan
- Agreement as well as a Schedule covering the use of BNR's
- CMOS4S technology.

- MICROELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY BULLETINS describe available technology that can
- be sourced through Canadian Microelectronics Corporation, its Members or its
- suppliers. Examples include design cells, CAD software, technical reports or
- fabrication technology. The bulletin provides basic information about the
- status of the technology and conditions of access. For more information
